We’re on the hunt for a full-time BUTCHER at
Akaroa Butchery & Deli.

We are looking for an experienced butcher who is ready to flex their skills and ideas as part of a small, owner-operator team in the popular Akaroa Butchery + Deli.

The best candidate will be able to fit in with our weekly work schedule (Tues-Sat), primarily sharing butchery tasks with the owner while being comfortable chatting with, and serving customers when required. Flexibility across jobs, particularly during the very fast-paced days of our busy summers, is as important as a friendly, motivated and easygoing attitude. We work hard but value a fun and friendly vibe within our team.

We serve a valued local customer base, as well as weekend bach owners and domestic and international tourists. We enjoy offering the staples and coming up with new ideas to please and interest our regular customers, something that our new team member will be welcome to experiment with and bring their ideas to the table.

Remuneration will be negotiated based on experience and availability with staff discounts on meat and across all our categories.

8.5 hour days that may vary in starting and finishing times to be worked out with the candidate - we try to be accommodating and as flexible as possible with our staff’s needs. We hoping to have our new candidate start in the next few months.

The successful applicant will be responsible for their own transport and accommodation however, we will work as hard as possible to assist them in finding a home.
